The property TOOLEY was purchased in 1973 by the present owner, and is still run as a small family farm. It has some distance of Murray River frontage and is fully irrigable. The property Tooley was named after the Landing Point where Paddle Steam Boats used to dock back in the paddle boat days. The landing or docking point was named Tooley Landing.

Tooley was a producer of quality vealers, prime lambs and wool, also vegetables such as pumpkins, watermelons and rockmelons. In 1990 the first Garlic cloves were planted, an area of 0.9 acres. Many varieties of garlic have been trialled over the years and we are still using four varieties of garlic we obtained a long time ago. Two varieties of hard stem, with white and purple colourings, and the other 2 varieties of garlic a soft stem, with white to off white colourings. The name TOOLEY GARLIC was born in 1995 and was known as a regular supplier of Quality Australian Grown Garlic.

Tooley Garlic had an area of 4 hectares plus planted to garlic each year before the drought years set in back in the early 2000's with two generations involved, but now planting 1.5 hectares each year after one generation retired.

Tooley Garlic has many homemade simple machines to assist with the different stages of garlic production and over the decades has held many Australian Garlic Industry Association Inc. AGIA seminar farm visits, also information talks are held to assist people with garlic.

High quality Tooley Garlic is grown under the clear skies and fresh air of south western NSW and watered from the mighty Murray River where the garlic enjoys frosty winters and hot sunny summers, and is suitable for all your garlic needs.
